IE Domain Registry t/a .IE Annual Report 2021

Chief Executive's Report 2021 was a year of ongoing challenges and achievements for .IE; we coped with Covid restrictions; we benefitted from accelerated digital transformation, which boosted demand for SME’s online presence; and by year end the EU agenda for significant cybersecurity regulation became apparent. Arising from Strategy 2024 we formed a new team in 2021 to focus on data analytics and data visualisation with a medium-term objective to create a centre of excellence in three areas; providing data metrics and data visualisation; providing online self- assessment security tools; and supporting undergraduate applied research on internet-related topics. We also dedicated resources in 2021 to ISO compliance, recognising the need to move from ISO alignment to ISO certification.
